10 Best Lure Fishing Video Channels on YouTube: Agree or Disagree?

Which YouTube Lure Fishing Video Channels deserve your time and attention? Here are my personal picks (you'll find a big variation in subscribers & location). There's also a video from each channel featured below...(Skip to our TOP 3 Here)

How I picked my Top 10 "Lure" Channels

There's no magic formula that I've used to pick out my favourites - and there are certainly OTHER channels (on the subject of fishing with lures) that I watch that could easily slot into this selection. Basically, this isn't scientific - at all.  It's totally based on my gut feelings. You'll also see that subscriber number is basically ignored in my ratings. This is about the content - and I've included a hand-picked video from each channel below...

Consequently, I'm very keen to hear about your own picks that belong in the "Top 10" (so please hit up the comments section at the end of this post & educate me on what I missed or dissed!).

What I will say is that the channels here hit a whole range of different "buttons" for me.

Sometimes it's the sheer personality that is super-engaging (shout out to my boy LOJO right there ha ha). Raw, straight-shooting authenticity would be another powerful factor. All told, there are different combinations and examples of high-level fishing skills, inspirational fishing, interesting stories/locations, production-values/costs (with a full spectrum represented!), sheer passion for lure fishing and even personal style that play a part in the choices.

So let's count down in Reverse Order...

#10: A Lure Fishing Techniques Treasure Trove - TacticalBassin

Matt and Tim share new videos every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday - and you should listen to them! They've chalked up 7 world records as well as 70+ bass over 10lbs between them. They lay everything out there in deep detail - and the information provided could easily be compiled as a paid course (and you'd still be getting a good deal). This is lure fishing video making with exceptionally high educational content.

Don't be fooled into thinking that this only applies to bass in the USA. The concepts and specific tactics are being adopted and used around the world for tons of different species. Here's their guide to Flipping and Pitching Heavy Cover:

#9: French Maestro Sébastien Spring

Targeting catfish ("silure") through perch, pike, asp - the list goes on...

Sébastien catches them all in a variety of French waters (both stillwater and flowing). Whether it's wading, kayaking or float-tubing this intrepid River2Sea representative in Europe gets awesome results with his lures and you'll learn a lot about effective presentation just by watching him fish.

#8: UK Lure Fishing Buddies Uncovering Predator Venues Wherever They Go - Snagged Bro

Tom and Sean have great on-camera personality and banter - with an infectious enjoyment of the fishing adventures they share with us. Wherever predators swim, they'll be there - and I particularly enjoy the "urban counterculture" episodes. Don't overlook their masterclass-level skills in interacting with passing members of the public (whether those passers-by are "Day-Drunk AF" or not ha ha ha). 

They'll always explain "No, we put the fish back" or "See how I'm holding it under the chin so it's not damaged" or show folks the unhooking/measure mat - which is great to see in any responsible lure fishing video content.

Plus, there's a very nice line in dry, understated Brummie wit throughout (look out for throwaway lines like "Considering that, erm, this boat is annihilating this swim...Let's go home" - which somehow work even better with the accent.

I also laughed a lot at them gaming the YouTube/Search Engine algorithms in the car at the end of this one:

#7: Hidden Gem River & "Creek" Fishing with Awesome Underwater Footage - The Ginger Fisherman

Family man Chris (self-proclaimed ginger and with a proper Northern accent - good lad!), takes us along on his "stolen-hours" trips out to his amazingly productive, local venues. Look out for his fresh "pet python-food" rodent topwater experiments as well as the fascinating (and difficult to capture) underwater sequences. There's a huge amount of artificial lure fishing video footage for perch, pike and chub, with dry down-to-earth commentary punctuated frequently by the cry of "FISH!....BIG PIKE!!!". 

The river spots that he fishes often have chalk-stream like clarity (even though they're a long way from those rivers). That makes the hits from predators super exciting (whether or not he's got the GoPro underwater!). The other great thing about this channel is that Chris obviously fits his fishing in around his family life - with multiple quick morning or evening sessions being the norm.

When you couple that with the "stream-next door", unassuming venues- it all feels just like the kind of fishing we could (and should) all be doing.

#6: Marine Rocky Shore Fishing/Micro & Specimen Species Quest - Devon Lerfer

The channel title "lerfer" comes from the abbreviation "LRF" which stands for "Light Rock Fishing". Each video transports us to a different little gem of location on the rocky shore of England's South-West coastline. Dominated by lure fishing (often with soft plastics), the action is split between true "micro-fishing" for tiny species (familiar to anyone who is interested in Japanese micro-species fishing culture), and HRF (heavy rock fishing). 

The fishing might take place in the ocean or even in large rock-pools left behind by the retreating tide. A huge range of hook/lure sizes are covered. Anyone who has ever screwed down their drag, hooked a wrasse and held on - praying - to keep it from diving into kelp beds & rocks will know what being beaten up by a fish feels like. 

As well as being totally true to the Fishing Discoveries motto of "never miss an opportunity to fish", the species-hunt aspect (and NOT only valuing a fish for how BIG it is) is fantastic. It has to be one of the best ways to introduce you to (and help you value) the biological richness in our oceans. 

Anyone who has even a tiny interest in biology should be stoked to discover new fish you never knew existed...

#5: Predator Fishing on Public Transport, Street Fishing & Discovering Free Sections of River: The Outback UK

Young skater & lure fishing video artist Jeffas Jefferys shares incredibly honest, personal and revealing accounts of his quests on stream. Covering everything from BFS (Bait Finesse System) for trout, perch and chub through to heavy pike fishing and MONSTER perch captures - there's a ton of technique you can pick up from Jeffas' fishing journal episodes. 

I sat up and took notice when I saw his rundown on how to actually set up a baitcasting reel. It's the first time I'd seen someone call BS on what spool tension is actually all about (and I share his opinion that it's not up to spool tension to control backlashes - that's the job of your braking system and/or your thumb!). That goes against 99% of the advice you'll find online about baitcasting reels and how to use them...

Jeffas just recently agreed to be a brand ambassador for Westin - who obviously recognise the potential in this original creator and angler.

#4: King of the Lure Fishing Challenge (and Charismatic As All Get Out) - LOJO

LOJO picks up a camera and starts talking into the lens. Right away you know sharing a beer or ten or going fishing with this guy would be a blast - guaranteed. 

Then there's the challenges...

Say it's St. Patrick's day, well LOJO's hitting up Walmart and buying up an all-green fishing kit (from line, reel, rod, lures - the full 9 yards). Valentines' Day? It's pink and red from tackle box to trick worms. Then there's the "Worst Rated Lures on..." (just insert any number of well known websites, stores or entire online platforms) and your boy is hammering away to catch us a bass on each one.

Card-Carrying Googan Squad Member - LOJO certainly catches some sweet fish on Googan Baits (like the Bandito Bug and Krackin' Craw).

#3: BFS Casting Phenom & Best Dressed Japanese Headwaters Stream Angler - Enjoy Fishing/Angler Saito

So, you think you're hot sh!t with a baitcaster? Check out Angler Saito (and marvel at his tailor while you're at it). Skilful, stylish and with a wicked sense of fun, his "Enjoy Fishing" channel is full of super cool lure fishing video content of the highest skill level.

Roll-pitching? Yeah, he can thread a needle with that one at 10 paces. Heck, he can probably cut the head off an individual daisy with one of his flip casts.

Also the size of the bear paw-prints in the mud (particularly in Hokkaido) explain why he wears the jangling bells, sometimes lights fire-crackers and is also pretty vocal on stream. The last thing you want to do is to surprise a Japanese brown bear by arriving unannounced...

The "Genryu" (headwater) streams he fishes are remote, in the heart of Japanese mountain regions and contain iwana (white spotted char), amago (rain-child trout), yamame (lady of the mountains trout) as well as rainbow trout. The hand-crafted lures, custom rods and premium baitcasting/BFS reels really come to life with Anger Saito's skills and panache.

#2: Cool, Calm, Collected (Slick with the One-hand Paddling!) - NDYakAngler

Described (for his laid-back commentary and effortless skill) as the Bob Ross of Bass Fishing, the North Dakota Kayak fishing trips captured on GoPro and lapel mic by Matt Nelson have built an army of loyal fans.

One of the measures of any fishing footage is whether you get that feeling of "I WANT TO FISH THERE!" - this channel passes that test at every turn.

From chunker smallmouth bass to northern pike, muskies and even keeper crappie and bluegills - each trip out afloat is a treat. For reasons that will be obvious elsewhere on our site, I loved the trip out he made with his grandfather's old lures and gear catching quality smallmouth.

Watching those fat smallies smack Matt's Whopper Plopper on the glassy surface of his local river is pretty close to angling heaven I'd say.

#1: Living the Dream in Sweden & Around the World - Kanalgratisdotse

OK, take a bow Kanalgratis.se...

It is hard to resist the combination of white-hot obsession for fishing, killer production values some of the world's best perch and pike fishing in mile after mile of unspoiled lake and river wilderness. As well as their own fishing - masterminding the logistical minefield of creating and filming "Perch Pro" and "Fly vs. Jerk" contests is an amazing feat.

Equally impressive is the way these guys are happy to spread the love between major players that a lot of businesses would view as "competition to be destroyed or avoided at all costs".
